Warm and Autumnal Celebration at Allrose Farm
After a couple busy wedding seasons, we are finally getting around to sharing the stories of some of our past couples. We could not resist showcasing high school sweethearts, Brittany and Cole!
Brittany and Cole met in high school ceramics. He was looking to start Drivers Ed and she convinced him to sign up for the class she was taking. From there, they bonded over driving hours and eventually fell in love! It was a long road to the wedding day and beyond, but they’ve stuck together through it all. Now, eleven years later, the couple has a house and a baby girl.
Nine years after that fateful meeting in school, Cole decided he was ready to take the next step. Brittany had obtained her bachelor's and associate’s degrees, and was working as a registered nurse in the Emergency department. Cole had started his dream job as a police officer. It was finally time to settle down. During a trip to their best friends’ house in Florida, Brittany noticed Cole had been acting weird all week. She didn’t know what to think. On the last day of the trip, she asked him to just take one picture with her. He convinced her that they had to take the picture at the end of the dock, on the water. It was the perfect scene for a big, beautiful moment. After the picture, she started to walk back when she heard him say "got ya." When she turned, he was on one knee with the ring in his hand and asked her to marry him. It was definitely a “yes!”
Planning the wedding around COVID was very stressful. As soon as they got back from vacation, Brittany knew they needed to book a venue fast, as everyone was rescheduling due to the pandemic. They were also unable to confirm how many people they could have on their final guest list until the month before their wedding due to restrictions. Luckily, everything worked out, and they had their perfect day, with everyone in attendance. The couple was glad to have hired a wedding coordinator. Brittany says Angela shared things she “never would have thought about for the wedding,” and that “having a coordinator helped with the planning process greatly.”
The Wedding Venue
Cole wanted a laid back, backyard wedding. Brittany was looking for something a little fancier, yet rustic. Allrose farm was the perfect mix of this. It had the yard games and backyard appeal, but was still formal. The farm aesthetic maintains that rustic, down-home vibe while allowing guests and couples an upscale and beautiful wedding. It is perfect for a fall wedding, as Brittany, Cole, and all their guests would find out!
An Unforgettable Moment
The sparkler dance was a special moment the couple will never forget. All of the guests went outside the barn and lit up sparklers as Cole and Brittany came out, dancing among the falling stars!
When asked how she felt when she saw Cole for the first time on her wedding day, Brittany said that:
“Words cannot explain how I felt seeing Cole for the first time on my wedding day. It took us 10 years to come to that moment and it felt like a dream come true. It was one of the happiest days of my life.”
Advice from the Newlyweds
Brittany advises couples to live in the moment on their wedding day! Here’s what she had to say:
“Enjoy every moment of the day. At our wedding, wedding party members ended up drinking too much early in the day, and caused a lot of stress. If I could have gone back in time, I would have not focused on that and just enjoyed my time. Also, make sure you eat your food and cake! The day is about you, not everyone else. So make sure you do what makes you happy.”
