Monica and Stephan’s Golden Love at Powder Major’s Farm
Real Wedding Feature | 10.8.22
It is hard to believe that over a year has passed since Monica and Stephen’s wedding day, and over three years since we first met these two beautiful people. With Monica as a Labor & Delivery Nurse and Stephen a PA student newly accepted into the Navy, it goes without saying they had a lot on their plates aside from planning a wedding. Wedding Management with consulting was the perfect fit for these lovebirds to keep them on track. It was great getting to know them better over the course of their engagement.
Love Story
Monica & Stephen met on Bumble about seven years before their wedding! They recognized one another from the gym Monica worked at, running the front desk. Stephen had been attending the gym and checking in with her every day, not knowing that he was talking to his future wife.
Years later, in March 2020, just before the world shut down, the couple had a perfect moment- their engagement! Stephen surprised Monica by getting down on one knee at the Scituate Lighthouse, where two of their friends were hiding out, ready to take photos and celebrate the moment when Monica said yes!

Wedding Planning
After waiting out the pandemic, the couple secured their wedding date and got to planning! Monica really enjoyed the planning process, though it was a lot of hard work to create as many DIYs as she did! She recalls:
“Everything came together so nicely, it was so nice to walk up to the venue and see how it all unfolded!”

The Wedding Venue
The Barn at Powder Major’s Farm in Madbury, NH was the perfect fit for the couple. They fell in love with the beautiful views. The barn was a match made in heaven with the warm and cozy wedding they planned out. It was important to them to have good options for an indoor or outdoor wedding so that they would have a solid rain plan! It also wasn’t too far for their family to travel. All in all, it was the best choice they could have made!

An Unforgettable Moment
Monica’s best memory from the wedding day was the couple’s Beer Ceremony! Monica and Stephen share a love of beer, and they found a role for the drink to play in their wedding ceremony. It was a special, personalized unity ceremony that symbolized their unique love.

Advice from the Newlyweds
Monica has some important advice for couples planning their wedding:
“Don’t procrastinate! The earlier you get things done, the better. And, make frequent follow ups with vendors!”
